Fresh from Our Experts

Kinetic is a solid internet option for users with heavy internet usage, particularly in underserved rural areas. While its fiber footprint remains limited, we find that the provider stands tall among its competitors for its consistently praised customer service and unlimited data across all internet plans.

Kinetic comes highly recommended for its reliable internet performance and customer satisfaction. Although the prices for multi-gig plans are a bit on the expensive end, perks like free whole home WiFi and professional installation surely do make up for it.

Speed Review

Kinetic offers both fiber and DSL service. Fiber tiers deliver symmetrical upload/download speeds (up to 2 Gbps) and are ideal for multi-device homes. DSL is available in many areas and typically tops out around 100 Mbps with lower upload speeds. Availability and actual speeds vary by address.

Plan Connection Speed
Kinetic DSL DSL Varies by area (generally up to 100 Mbps download; uploads lower)
Fiber 300 Mbps Fiber 300 / 300 Mbps
Fiber 1 Gig Fiber 1 / 1 Gbps
Fiber 2 Gig Fiber 2 / 2 Gbps
Fiber Max Fiber Up to 2 / 2 Gbps

Symmetrical speeds apply to fiber only; DSL speeds depend on distance and line quality.

Data Review

All Kinetic Internet plans come with unlimited data and, thus, no overage fee. This is especially beneficial for large families with multiple users  engaged in data-intensive activities like 4K streaming, video calling, or remote work.

Consistency Review

While Kinetic’s fiber network delivers consistently fast speeds, its latency could be improved. All its fiber plans come with a latency of 25 ms, which, compared to other fiber providers, is a bit higher. While it may be sufficient for most online activities, power users could notice the difference in high-stakes gaming or 4K video calls.

“Kinetic offers reliable multi-gig plans with unlimited data; however, their latency could be improved for better network stability.”

Support Options Review

Kinetic offers on-call customer support to help you resolve any technical or network issues. You can contact Kinetic customer service through their official phone number Mon-Sun from 7:00 am - 10:00 pm (ET), on their official website, the Go Kinetic app, or via their social media channels.

Reputation Review

According to the American Customer Satisfaction Index Kinetic scores 72 out of 100—placing it below top-tier providers in customer satisfaction. However, Kinetic went under a system-wide revamp last year that looks promising in both theory and practice. We’re hoping to see a rise in their ACSI rating in the coming years.

Check out what customers are saying about Kinetic:

I am a gamer and I couldn't find any fiber based connection in my area but Kinetic came to save the day. Latency is stable, though my only complaint is price increase after the promotional period.

The customer service is rather inefficient but apart from that, it's good for my household with 7-8 devices that are constantly connected.
